Creed Aventus Cologne

I ordered both versions of creed aventus in the travel spray size for my husband to try, and decide which one he preferred. Unfortunately, I never received my order, but I can say that I was a buyer for a high end retailer department store, where I was very kindly granted the gift of different colognes from both bond no 9, and creed. I will say with complete certainty, and confidence that the original creed from 2010 is universally preferred over the newer 2018 version. The only real noteworthy pattern I discovered in my position of buying for neiman marcus all over the country was that women were making up 90% of the newer creed product. The product I’m currently reviewing. So, my advice would be that like everything else, scent preference is extremely personal. Especially with brands like creed where different genetic makeup can alter a scent altogether, based off many factors such as the acidity of a persons skin etc. This option tends to turn more floral, and “feminine” over time on many customers I’ve encountered, and was doing constant market research. Now, everything I’m stating is simply my experience, and personal knowledge on creeds aventus while working in this field for 22 years. My personal preference for both myself, and I’m hoping my husband as well, because I far prefer the original creed over this newer 2018 remake. The original is the most beautiful fragrance. There’s a reason it has such a massive cult favorite following. I can say that 84% of the customers who bought the original creed aventus repurchased the item repeatedly, whereas only 22% of the customers who bought the newer version; (the product I’m reviewing) repurchased this version. Again, I’m providing factual numbers, patterns, and data I studied for 22 years. Yet, I want to note that just because I’m mentioning statistics, doesn’t mean a person may far prefer the newer scent here. My recommendation would be to try a sample of each. Wear one version only for at least 4 hours. If it’s turning pungent and more noticeably scented, your body chemistry may suit the original version better. Yet, I’ve also heard women wanting to buy the newer version here, over even the aventus for her option. Most importantly, if you’re noticing a scent on yourself that’s becoming stronger, more noticeable, and developing more of the notes that aren’t what you want; then a scent isn’t agreeing with your body temperature. Another feedback i heard very regularly was that customers received many compliments on the original version, and the customers stated they forget they’re wearing it because they don’t smell it on themselves. Ironically, that’s the ideal scenario. It clearly agrees with their body chemistry. I was once told that if you can strongly smell a perfume/cologne/fragrance on yourself after at least an hour of wearing, then it’s going to only turn further into an undesirable scent. If you don’t notice it as much, but others do; that’s the ideal fit! In conclusion; try both aventus options. If you’re female, you may end up preferring the newer version, as more floral notes tend to come forward over time. I personally love the original for myself. I typically mix it with “the Hamptons” from bond no. 9 and the perfume “si”. This combination creates the most beautiful fragrance on me, and I love that it’s a scent that is unique to me. Keep in mind that that’s always an option, to mix with others. Especially for me I love the fresh scent of the original, and add a bit of a feminine touch by adding more subtle hints of musk, and bergamot to balance the more masculine elements of the original aventus. I’ve also worn this fragrance with other creed perfumes, and santal 33 from la labo. I genuinely hope this review is helpful to others! Always remember that one persons review may be simply down to them only. Creed fragrances have a unique, and distinct ability to alter its scent on different people. I love that about creed. Who wants to smell like everyone else? I know that scent is the strongest ability to bring back memories. I still smell Chanel on other women and immediately I feel like my mum is with me again. That’s the beauty of investing in a fragrance that’s completely your own.., it becomes part of your identity, and all the loved ones you leave behind when the time comes to leave this earth, and pass away… you will carry on for them in their memory of you. Each time I miss my mum, I still go to smell her perfume that’s been kept in a cool dark box to preserve it the best I can. It brings me so much comfort, and I feel her presence again.
