Forbidden Sugar by Emir has me completely speechless. This isn’t your typical sugary, candy sweet fragrance. It’s soft, airy, and somehow feels like the scent of powdered sugar floating through the air. Imagine fluffy marshmallows dusted with powdered sugar, finished with a delicate drizzle of golden honey. It’s sweet without being sticky, rich without being heavy, and unbelievably powdery from start to finish. Every time I smell it, I notice something new, yet I still can’t fully explain what makes it so addictive. This is one of those fragrances that doesn’t smell like everything else on the market. It’s unique, comforting, elegant, and impossible to put into words. If you’re looking for a sweet fragrance that skips the candy shop vibe and instead wraps you in a cloud of powder, marshmallow, and honey, Forbidden Sugar is an absolute masterpiece.

I saw a rave review for this perfume on another site and could not stop thinking about it, so I blind bought it and I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful perfume, and I've already had success layering with two other tea type of scents and that combination is amazing!

Absolutely beautiful! This is a dupe of Boclut’s “Sugar” but after 8 weeks maturation I think it’s very close to the OG but actually smoother, sweeter, cleaner, not as linear scent as the OG. Projection is 3-4 feet the first 2 hours then settles to a nice scent bubble for another 3-4 hours where it settles to an intimate skin scent for remainder of dry down. Nice sillage. I don’t get the caramel, coconut, or peach at all. It has a light fruitiness but I pick up on the orange blossom more than anything else and also a suggestion of honeysuckle though that note isn’t listed. Could just be the sweetness. I’ve read other reviews saying its a cloyingly sweet fragrance that is only recommended for Winter. I disagree. I think it’s perfect for any season except maybe not a very hot summer day. Still you could use less, layer with a fresh citrusy scent and it would be fine even in that circumstance. I think this is a wonderful scent for women (can’t see a man wearing this), any age, for any occasion. Beautiful for date night but Id layer it with a rose centric perfume and a bit more vanilla. Though this is in the gourmand category it won’t remind you of any dessert so not an edible type of scent, just deliciously sweet. It has a lot of notes listed and one might think it’s quite complex but really not at all. However I don’t mean to suggest it’s very linear either. There aren’t abrupt changes throughout dry down. It has very subtle smooth transitions from bright citrus to a floral forward scent and back to a clean sugary sweet. You get a little of all of these throughout the wear but you’ll pick up on one or the other a little more clearly at times. This feels like a very expensive luxurious scent. It’s incredible how inexpensive it is. In my collection of over 300 perfumes, niche, designer, Arabic, or from the dupe houses such as Oakcha or Dossier, this perfume is one of the very best & on trend offered. It is very much a safe blind buy. I can’t imagine anyone not liking it. It’s performance is wonderful as well. Though you’ll find a lot of notes listed in this perfume, none overtakes the other which makes this a wonderful perfume to layer with. If you want to bring out the fresher citrus vibes, I have found layering it with North Stag Quatra is absolutely the prettiest I’ve found to date but I have layered this with many. YSL’s Babycat and Lattafa’s Mashrabya are surprisingly good as well. For a richer flavor Maubussons Star is great too (Star is a n uncomplicated not too dense vanilla floral) that takes this in a more romantic direction. I think one of Forbidden Sugars strengths is it’s easy to layer with and elevates so many others. As mentioned a great for any occasion, any time, any season, any age and couldn’t be more affordable!

A truly intoxicating fragrance. To me, this smells like you’re in a dark room with a vase of semi-fragrant jasmine and orange blossom in the background, and you took a cashmere sweater, dumped a jar of honey on it, drizzled caramel over top of that, and then poured a bag of marshmallows on the whole thing, with powdered sugar falling out of the marshmallow bag; and finally, you sprinkled a pinch of spices on the inedible concoction. It’s dense, sweet, very honey-forward. A gorgeous, complex fragrance. It’s sexy, dark, and indulgent. Longevity, sillage, and projection are all moderate to high. Straight out of the box, it smelled weird. Two days later it was incredible and has been ever since.
