So I’m not an OUD guy and I know Montale isn’t a crowd friendly brand. Most of their scents have a challenge somewhere in either the top, mid, or dry down. But I love Mancera and really wanted to see if the parent brand was just as good. Paris Fougere Marine is supposed to be one of the least offending of the brand. Blind bought on sale and at first it is almost pleasant and then something in it “maybe musk” makes it smell off. It’s this one off note surrounded by the nice lavender and barber cream smell. But the one note gets stronger in the mid and dry down. And most surprisingly it’s not a long lasting scent as most of the line is. So I’ll probably pass it to my son who gets all my no go blind buys. It was worth a shot.

Montale, Paris Fougeres Marine So Ive always wanted to try a Montale but all there stuff has OUD and that note is not known as pleasing. I'm a fan of Fougeres and thought I'd give this a try as Montales are known for great performance. So this has a slight green barber smell to it. My wife liked the smell upon the opening and I thought it was ok. But in about 30 mins we started to notice a change in the mid. I'm guessing it was OUD sneaking in. OUD has an off putting smell that if your not a fan of you wont like. It's basically wet wood. But it was the performance that suprised me. It was light and lasted all but about 3 hours on my skin. I think it's safe to say that I'm not an OUD fan and will stick to Mancera's as they are made by Montale but have scents without oud. I would not buy this again even for the great price.
