Genius in a bottle. I love this rich, mossy, fragrance. It envelops me in a cozy cloud. I wear it as a comfort scent at home. (For going out, I prefer something more restrained and classic such as one of the Chanel exclusives.)

Luca Turin, the brilliant perfume guru, describes this scent as one of the greatest ever formulated. It lacks the vulgarity present in so many modern perfumes. It is gorgeous on the skin, the dry down is a marvel—subtle, slightly spicy, peachy and luscious. I always receive compliments.

I bought Mitsouko for the first time and I'm 62, and the first thing it did was bring back memories of how every old lady smelled when I was a child. I'm wearing it at home to see if the scent actually develops on my skin into something I like, but yesterday I only liked it after wearing it for 8 hours. I'm glad I only bought the tester because I may not ever wear this scent. Otherwise, I am a huge fan of Guerlain perfumes and wishing I had bought a new bottle of Samsara instead. To me, Mitsouko smells like grannies and hair spray.

Mitsuoko reminds me of a 1950’s grandma. I bought it because one reviewer mentioned an Asian influence. I have been looking for something to replace the original Zen by Shisheido. This is not it. It’s not my least favorite first try but it is not for me.
