Joywomen

I became intrigued with the history of the original, very expensive Joy perfume by Jean Patou. When I found some of the modern Patou formulation here I ordered both the parfum and the EDT versions and I absolutely love both of them, although there seems to be a slight difference I can't describe. The bottle is lovely, too. Like all the classic perfumes, the formulations have had to change over the decades, but apparently this Patou version is much like the original. Sadly, even this is said to no longer be in production by the company that bought Patou. (The newer silver imposter isn't the same at all and should not use the name "Joy.") I understand why Joy was such a big deal long ago. The fragrance is like nothing else I've ever tried. On me, it gets even better in the first half hour, as it can seem a bit strong at first. It's a floral scent but has a touch of something different and quite unique; maybe that's its magic. I'm adding to my stash of Joy as I'm afraid the Jean Patou version will become totally unavailable.
