Cold watery white floral. Sweet - in the way that flowers can be described as sweet, not a gourmand or food-like sweet at all. Reminds me of Michael Kors. It's "nice" but I don't see myself reaching for it in the future. If you want a more modern and spicier relative of this fragrance, try McQueen. The newer-ish bottle that has a black lid. I've wanted to try this for years and finally did. I must have a very discerning and picky nose because I was underwhelmed - it did not live up to the hundreds of thousands of rave reviews, articles, and stories. Although.... I imagine when this was created it was an extremely unique and most beautiful fragrance compared to the alternatives. This certainly doesn't smell like something from 1948, a time which brings to mind heavy woods, saps, resins, etc. There are none of those here.
