This scent is divine. I can't stop holding my wrist to my nose. The burst of pepper opening dies down to a very soft powdery scent with only a hint of pepper left. That for me is the most captivating aspect of it. I understand the comments about it being haunting or Gothic. It leaves you searching for a whiff of what you smell when you turn your head, only to find it disappeared already. It takes you back in time without smelling old fashioned, more like a pleasant memory of your favorite teacher, but still elusive, like a dream you can't quite remember. I also have a bottle of Mon Guerlain, and find this to be similar, but more subtle. Therein lies the only drawback for me. It last all day, but only with close contact. It's sillage is weak, if you're like me, and like to have enough of a scent trail for others to notice without being offensive.

I fell in love with PERLES DE LALIQUE when my Daughter brought a bottle in Paris & gave me this wonderful Perfume. I Love the smell, Not too strong when I first sprayed it on & I smell a whiff of it all day long. It is still a faint wonderful smell when I go to bed. This was a very special gift from my daughter. I hope Fragrance net can keep it in stock & not completely clearance it. I get so many compliments from both Women & Men every time I put it on. Im a retired Critical Care nurse & the hospitals have a rule not wear Perfume around patients, might upset the patients. I occasionally put on my favorite cologne & as sick as some patients were they said my perfume smelled so good they felt better. Smelled better than the Hospital. My Daughter & I love PERLES DE LALIQUE.

Arriving in the same shaped bottle as Amythyst, Perles de Lalique is more of a powdery floral than the sweetly floral Amythyst. It is as well blended and balanced as Amythyst but the scent profile is peppery powdered florals with patchouli undertones. Beautiful in its own right, I wear it more in the cooler months and keep the Amythyst for the warmer months. Perles is not overpowering or a wisp of nothing. Just like Amythyst, it is somewhere in between. And, just like Amythyst, every top, middle, and base note is beautifully done. Long lasting for me.
