I’m updating this fragrance after testing 14 more cherry centric scents. Surprisingly this is still my top vanilla, actually top cherry centric fragrance too. It does have a strong rich vanilla scent that makes this a rich long lasting scent but has a “cherry” one to one with all the other cherry centric fragrances, this remains the best. The vanilla I think gives it the ability to last longer and grounds the scent. It could go with out the vanilla and ride along with the full bodied cherry beautifully. Vanilla isn’t an absolute necessity at all. The cherry used is so well bodied , beautifully balanced, sweet, sweet full scented ripe cherry, no sourness or screechiness to be found. However the vanilla does add to this perfume making it warmer and even more full bodied and lasting than it would be without it. I don’t particularly like cherry perfumes. Too often they remind me of cough syrup and I think normally the cherry note is superfluous. Not the case here. I believe the cherry note adds brightness, and sweetness without becoming cloying in the least and interest and I dare say rounds out the vanilla scent or the vanilla rounds out the cherry note. I’m not sure which, other than to say the cherry helps this scent project more while the vanilla makes the overall perfume creamier and warmer. They are mixed to perfection playing each note off against one another and elevating the whole concoction making it better than it would be if alone. This scent would be appreciated by all ages. Not too old or too young for anyone. It’s perfect for most occasions but shines afternoon/evening, great date night scent especially if layering a rich floral like rose. Will work all seasons except Summer or very high heat in Spring. Perfect for most occasions but very much so for evenings and date night. Can be worn during the day, just go a bit easier on the trigger. Then it’s fine for even office settings. Only caution would be for those in the medical fields where you working closely with patients. Go very, very lightly here and you should be okay. Projection is 2 foot for the first couple hours where it becomes a nice size scent bubble for approximately 3 hours more. After that it becomes an intimate skin scent for approximately 2-3 hours longer. Stays on clothing until laundered. I’ve not noticed much spillage. I’m sure there is some but it’s not a lot and it’s rather fleeting. Bottle is beautifully well crafted and beautiful for your vanity. This should come as no surprise considering this is a fine jewelry company so presentation is as one would expect…….gorgeous!. Just beautiful presentation. The nicely designed and crafted bottle that looks like a piece of jewelry many would like to keep to reuse. I know I certainly am looking for a way to do so. It’s presentation from box to bottle is beautifully giftable. I doubt anyone would suspect you paid under 50.00 for it and performance will certainly back up this assertion. As mentioned it’s for any age, any use, except very hot days, but as mentioned it can be used sparingly and layered with a fresher (citrus) for even warmer days. Very, very versatile fragrance. Definitely a great blind buy unless someone particularly doesn’t like vanilla and/or cherry. I really cannot imagine anyone not really enjoying this scent even with those who have become tired of either cherry or vanilla scents. This is a full bodied scent with better cherry and vanilla than you’ll find in the usual offerings so don’t expect redundancy in this one. I’ve layered many perfumes with this that came out really nice. I think it’s one of its greater features. None have gone wrong yet so lovely way to make your own perfume. While a full bodied scent, perhaps that’s why it can take on other fragrances with alacrity. I’ve yet to layer one (my favorite thing to do) and not had great success. My rule for layering however is if a scent shares at least 3 notes, it’s probably going to mix very well. This is only my rule, I’m sure there are better ways! I will buy another bottle, it will always remain in my collection and VERY strongly recommend this fragrance to anyone as a safe blind buy. I doubt you will regret buying this perfume and don’t be surprised if it ends up in your top 10 along with Maubbuson Star (the regular). In fact it’s about the best I have layered Maubboson Cherie with. The latter brings more vanilla and warmth in.

Another really, really beautiful fragrance from this house most well known for jewelry design. Evidently they take everything they create quite seriously as this is the 3rd fragrance I’ve purchased from them and all have been extremely good. From beautiful, lux bottles to outstanding rich fragrances, they’re batting a thousand! Though this fragrance didn’t perform as well as it is doing now it wasn’t bad right out of the gate. However the cherry note especially was much fainter. Now the cherry note is there and really, really nice along with a sweetness I can’t quite describe or at least attribute to any certain note. However I’m sure the vanilla has at least something to do with it. I’m not sure when the note clearly intensified as I left it to sit for 3 months while wearing other fragrances. Wasn’t ever bad but just wasn’t the season (best worn fall/winter), and I also knew middle eastern fragrances do need to mature. It certainly did that with a bang. Projects like crazy (3-4 ft) great sillage, and longevity is wonderful as well. While the original Mauboussin Star (vanilla centric) is the original and my favorite this one is nudging right up there next to it. Absolutely beautiful scent that most definitely is a safe blind buy really for any age. I think this might shine most in cooler climates, I’d still wear it year round regardless. It’s not a thick cloying scent so I dont think this should be a concern. I’d pay far more for it though glad I don’t have to. The 3 scents I’ve purchased while quite different (note profile) are all absolute winners! I’d gate keep this BUT afraid they could stop making it if it doesn’t keep selling well. I’m sure it will however it’s back up bottle time just in case (LOL). As if I don’t have enough perfume! Would make a wonderful signature scent. Another jewel! Buy it. You won’t regret this purchase!
